Default VA hunting tactics

Any of my fellow Old Dominioners have any hunting tactics they would like to share? I was curious about times and dates when you rattle, bleat, grunt, fart, whatever you got...If you have any good sequences, throw those into the mix as well!

It's hot out now, you'll want to hunt early a.m. and late p.m. until it cools down some. They're moving, just not much. If you can find a trail going to a water source, all the better.

coolbrze0 knows what he's talkin about,,,were findin that any small creek beds with even a hint of moisture are holding deer,,,my oldest son shot a huge bodied 8pt last night at 3:45 pm,,,two bucks came in for an afternoon drink and he got a good shot off at the biggest one.

Hunting around water is a good idea. Pinch points are great also.

+1

That's what I am going to do tomorrow... I'm going to be extra careful not to overheat and stink up the area. Then around 10:30 or 11:00, I"ll quietly packup and head out. Then spend some time down at the rifle range. Then late afternoon, I'll head back and sneak back in to a great afternoon hunt spot near the stream.

Try to get him on my site, too. You should sign up, as well. We already have over 300 posts and we've only been up since Sept. 20! I'm extremely happy with it. PM buckshot5792 with your username so I know who you are!
