Todd,
Florida averages 3 deer per square mile. So you have to look/hunt hard.

Chris

You will probably have to drive 4 or so hours north to get into better hunting. Getting a good place down there is going to be hard to find, unless you want to share the same tree with someone else.

your area is pretty wet... lots of development near west palm. Loxahatchee NWR is in the area. Its a wet area, lots of sugar cane fields and lots of water. Kinda on the outskirts of the everglades. Private land is tough to get on unless you get lucky and meet the right person. You may be able to track down a rancher that would be willing to let you hunt but I wouldn't count on it.

todd, the deer aren't much to brag about in Fl. every once in a while a nice one will be killed, but it's not an everyday accurance. a lot of floridians take there hunting to georgia and alabama.huge difference in population and size.

Todd,
Notonly Gators, we have snakes and spiders to worry about. So you have three things that could kill you. (-: Welcome to Florida. Oh, yeah and if the Gators, snakes or spiders don't get you the mesquetos will. The mesqueto bites are the worst part (worse than the heat) of hunting in Florida. You should see my neck, face, and hand right now. They are pretty eaten up. And I only hunted 6 hours this weekend!
