Hey guys, Im relatively new to the area (Hampton Roads) I moved here after spending 4 years in Germany. Im looking for some nice public land to hunt, leases, openings in clubs, people to hunt with etc. Thanks for any info.

Check out Ft Eustis. I'm not down there anymore but when I was, I hunted Eustis a lot. Some cumbersome Army-imposed rules but good hunting once you got used to them. Excellent archery area.

Go to www.vdgif.com and use the Find Game link. It lists almost every piece of public land in the state (state forest, national forest, and wildlife management areas). It will also list some of the military installations open to hunting and if you are active duty, retired, or DOD there are more that are not listed.
