Default KY whitetail hunt fall 07

I'm planning a fall deer hunt in KY on public land. Can anyone advise me on a good MWA? I am thinking about Redbird in the Daniel Boone Forest.

Can you hunt on Sunday in Ky?

Can not tell you much about redbird, but I can tell you that Land Between the lakes has more deer and they are larger. The season starts a little later, but it is a prime destination. It will add a few hours to your trip.

You should check it out.

We had decided to avoid Redbird and we are considering going to Land Between the Lakes. Is the LBL crowded on opening day/weekend?

We're still browsing for info.

Are you planning a bow hunt? The regular bow season in LBL starts later than the statewide season. It is usually not crowded at all during the archery seasons.

I would go to the LBL website and take a look. It does get a fair amount of pressure and I seem to recall that gun season may be a draw only. LBL has some pretty strict rules and getting all squared away may take a few days toscout and be ready to go. One thing on your side is that the acorns should be virtually nonexistant. A spring freeze has wiped out most of the trees. Any acorns or the crops will be a good draw.

Another are to consider is Peabody.

We taking a close look at Peabody as well as some WMA's on the Ohio River. We are concerned about the pressure on LBL.

Thanks for the input
