Hehehehe...Me too, Chuck...I like anything that swims , crawls or sits on the bottom of the ocean, butI ESPECIALLY like oysters...

A few years ago, on my birthday , my sister took me to an oyster joint near Charleston, SC...

I think I ate oysters fixed SIX different ways that night...YUM..!!...

To cook an oyster is to ruin an oyster........:) I like em all ways, but you are too far up the coast for me.

TC...Yeah I like 'em raw....

But I also like 'em FRIED, steamed and several different ways...

Probably my LEAST favorite way is in stew, but I still like 'em that way too...:)....

Yeah me too.
I worked at a Seafood Restaurant in Maryland...;)
I know all about Seafood.

They don't cook crabs, oysters or shrimp the way I grew up. I buy them and fix them at home..I like my seafood so seasoned that you can hardlyhandle it..

now oysters are good in stew, on the 1/2 shell or patted and fried.
Man I love seafood.
I miss eatting the shad roe...that is one of my favorites.

I like them battered and deep fried and in stew, but not raw. I would never trade Conch Fritters or ConchChowder for Oysters.:)

LOL I can actually hear you making that statement Reb..I remember your voice and accent from when we ate at Fred's .:)The crabs here in Lakeland are too expensive and many times there is very little meat in them. We simply buy a pound already picked from Sams. You can get the breast or the claw..man..you got me wanting to pick up some shrimp or crab meat.
have a super day,
C7

This isn't the same one that's at the heavy equipment facility on Rt 3 by the bridge to nowhere is it?

RE: Annual Oyster Roast 03/31/2007

02bhntn.. to answer your question no it is not.. that is WHite Oak Equipments Annual Roast (case equipment dealer) they hold thiers the first weekend in March and we usually hold ours the following weekend or the last weekend of march. We try to work with each other promoting each others event and workign aroudn each other as not to draw from the others crowd. I think last year they made something like $50,000 off of theirs. We usually make a hell of allot less lmao.. in fact a minute amount compared to that but it still helps with what we use it for.. every penny does. Besides they usually only serve oysters where we try to have a selection of itmes to choose from that way you can bring the whole family and there is something for everyone. I did forget to mention that the little ones eat free and I will have to double check the age for that but I will found out today and post it so that everyone knows.

If you want to shoot me a email or pm with your number I can tell you a bit more about it. We will also be taking applications and will be able to show interested new members pictures/maps of the properties we have and ones we are in the process of aquiring.

Jim & Brad,

We would like to thank you for coming down and spending some time with us. We hope you guys enjoyed it as much as we did. It is great to finally put a few more faces with some of the names on here. Jim it is ashame that you already have plans but there will be more events I am sure. Also I am workign on that member packet for you however I have about 1 million things going on this week to get ready for the oyster roast so it will probably be next week when I get it out to you!

Brad please forgive me but I do not recall if you said you might be able to attend this coming weekend or not. Either way it was great meeting you and I look forward to seeing you again.

I look forward to hopefully meeting some more of you guys this coming weekend. I just added to our oyster order last night... something in the neighborhood of 10 gallons and 6 bushells in the shell.
