SC hunt club???
#1
I joined a club this year that had restrictions and I will not be back. I had some deer patterned and when the season started so many little deer were shot, that the deer went almost nocturnal and erratic in their travel patterns. At least a third of the deer shot buy this club have been 75lbs or less.
To me, those little does were living decoys. I don’t want to shoot many deer but I do want to see them.
Anyone know of a good club in SC within an hour of Columbia???

Not looking for pay by the day or weekend operation like Double A Plantation. I'm looking for a club with memberships. A place to go on my time off and watch the deer grow. A place where my “sweat equity” might pay off and being around like minded individuals with a love for the outdoors.

Mello,
I moved to Greenville, SCfrom FL a year and a half ago. I found my current hunt club on hightechredneck.com. One club that I looked at was the Deer Run Hunt club located near I26 and I385. I liked the people and the area, chose another club that was closer to home to join. But, my current club has same problems you described and I will more that likely check back with Deer Run.
Good Luck

We hunt for quality bucks and shoot very few does. Limited number of members allows for QDM and seeing a lot of deer.

I also joined a hunt club this year near cottageville. I hunted an average 2-3 days a week and I only saw 4 does the whole season. Three of them young fawns. There was one member who shot a 70lb button buck! As the season came to an end I realized why we had such a poor deer population. All of the acreage around our 650 acres was used for dog hunting and every year our land is dog hunted 2-3 times. The last hunt there were probably 40 deer taken from a dog hunt throughout theour land and the surrounding areas. Does any one know of a good hunt club near or around the charleston area that practices qdm?
