I don't know what he may score, however, that's a great buck! What is the story behind that brute? Where abouts did you get him. I hunt in Albemarle, Madison, & Pittsylvania counties.

This buck was shotin Nelson County Va. at 1:10 in the afternoon with a 270win about 40 yards. It is a old mountain buck....no fields, no food plotsand nofences. I guess it must have had a bunch of acorns to grow a rack like that. It is largest buck I have personally have taken.I am not sure what it may score (or what class buck this is) However, it seems Mountain deer grow at a slower rate than a corn farm feed deer! ha

Great buck. Should score 130+.

He's a nice deer. He might make 130. One thing, you don't have a lot of deductions. Your spread and beam length is where most of your pts are and he has some mass. that will count more than you think,
hellova deer though. Look at mine on the thread my 10 pt. He scored 129 4/8 green, but I had a lot of deductions

Thanks guys for your help both on the this site and helping me try to score this buck. Ialways here about classes of bucks but never new a reference to what a 130+ class buck might look like...I guess I will now!I only have (2) pics of this deer so I will attach the other one. Bestof luck to all the hunters out there.. and be careful the high winds are a coming!

Congrats on the Buck. What is the story behind it? How high up the mountain was he? What time of day etc...

Nice buck! I took a pretty nice 8 recently but he didn't go that big. I'd say he'd score every bit of 125+, he's got some nice consistent mass and like prev. mentioned little deductions. Again, congrats!

Pointrunner,

Nice Buck brother! I assume he's going on the wall. If so, are you taking him to Rapalee Taxidermy?

Great buck Point runner. My fiancee's family has some land in Nelson County I hope to beallowed to hunt in the upcoming seasons. There are some nice looking woods out there. I hunt a lot in Dinwiddie(between Sussex and Amelia) and I couldn't get over the difference, it is so much flatterin Dinwiddiecompared to the elevation changes in Nelson. Anyway congratulations on a great deer and I hope to get a crack at some of those Nelson County bucks in the future.

That buck has a great spread and fantastic mass all the up. I would say that he will be 130+. You should get online and download the B&C scoresheet. Write down the measurements and then just input them on the B&C website and it will calculate the gross score for you, including any deductions. Have a blast.

I looked at the score sheets that you fellas have spoke about. I have already taken this buck to the taxidermist so I will give him a call to get the measurements ofthis buck and will let you know the gross score. I guess sometimes you get all caught up in looking at the deer and forget to get out the measuring tape! Thanks for all the advice.

Very nice buck!!!!! I can tell you that my Big 7 pointer Scored 142 last year. If I was you I would take it to the Big Game Show In Harrisonburg this coming September. I would bet he scores 150 something. I killed a Big 9 pointer this year, 20 inches wide and several people tell me he will score 150 something. Know that is on the VA system, on B&C you can deduct about 20 to 30 points from the VA score, that will give you a rough on B&C. My 9 pointer was killed in Central VA also.

Russ4411,

I will probably will have this deer scored at the big game show..I usually go to both the Big Game show in Harrisonburg as well as the one in Fishersville at Expoland. They are both 30 minutes from where I live...and they both fall on the same weekend this year. Best of luck
