Hey guys! This is a great website. I have lived in Florida for my whole life. I am 26yrs old and live and work as a firefighter/paramedic in the Tampa Bay area. I ususally go up to Apalachiacola and run dogs in the national forest but i also like to still hunt. I am looking into some hunting clubs but also looking for some leases in north Florida, Alabama, and Georgia. I have hunted since i was small but always either by myself or with my dad. i am looking to make some huntin buddies and do some serious hunting in central florida. any suggestion on how to find the different clubs in central florida. I have done some searching on the internet and not too much luck. Any help would be appreciated.

yes , the Green Swamp is good.{ IN the sense that there is alot of game} Is the game easy to get.HECK NO !!
The deer and hog love to hide where teh normal hunter won't go. It's 59,000 acres so they have plenty of places to hide. You can find tracks and signs everywhere. I mostly hunt Powder Grade. There are more hog signs there and i've seen more deer there.
Driving ..you can drive everywhere. The raods are fine. You are not allowed to drive on the trails off the main roads .If a side road has a yellow flag you can drive down them if you have a handicapped hunting license. The only time you need a bike is during the period when there is no hunting . Right now it is very dry so it's a good time ot explore those bayheads that were once filled wiht mocassins and gators. If you can find a bayhead with mud hog wallows your chances of scoring a hog goes up 80%.

a friend of mine moved to the new Colt Creek State Park..his son is the manager there....his name is Frank, he's missing his top front teeth, you'll know him when you see him...a good ol boy...he's been doing a lil scouting over there, so if you can tell me anywhere he should stay away form or head too, please do.

Hey , I'd love to meet up with ya sometime. About once a year Rebel Hog gets all the Florida folks to meet for breakfast. This year I'm buying. Last year he bought.I hope you can be with us.
As far as the hunting tips...I'm not a pro Huntnma. I've seen a few pros in that place and I'm not one. All I do is scout and pray. I also use Goggle maps, ask questions and spend alot of time out there. As far as the game goes this has been a very slow year. The game is there but they are totally nocturnal. I saw 2 huge bucks and a doe during archery .I mostly either hunt Orange Lake or Powder Grade. Right now there are about 5 other trucks hunting Orange Lake so I've left that spot. Powder is much more spread out.

Jeff,
I live in Land O Lakes so we are pretty close to each other. I have decided to take up hunting again. When I first moved down here it seemed to hot to hunt; however, I want to try again. I too would like to find a hunt club to join, but until then I will look at hunting the WMA areas around here.
I believe there is a archery only hunt club just north of tampa. I need to try to track that lead down. Anyway, if you hear of anything let me know and I will do the same for you.
Good luck in the field.
