My doe season ended 1 hour into the morning. Took a dressed 85 lb doe around the Oologah area. Now I can take my time for a nice buck.

Got me one too. 7 pt at 142#. 7 am.

Ill be back after a doe next weekend. My 5 yr old wants to go so we'll go in the afternoon.

Here is mine. Public land 4x4. Shot slightly before 10:00. I kicked him up out of his bed last weekend. Yesterday when I shot him he was six steps in trail of a doe.

Got this guy yesterday. He field dressed at 145# and is a 8 pt with 2 kickers. Neck was swollen but the tarsals werent that bad yet. We spotted him and a smaller buck with 2 does earlier. Shot was 280 yds with 270 (130 grain relaods).

Nice bucks, everybody. I haven't seen anything but a couple of small bucks and several does. Every doe I have seen still have their fawns with them and I haven't seen more than one doe together. It's weird. Everybody else is talking like the deer are chasing like crazy, but not where I'm hunting. It's like it was October. I did see some chasing a few nights ago when I was bowhunting, but that was on another property. I know there are good bucks here, cause I killed one during bowseason, and I have pictures of others, I just don't get it.

The buck pictured above was all by his lonesome last weekend. Yesterday when I seen him he was nose deep in a hot doe. I seen two other deer last weekend; one doe and the other I can't say for sure, but both were loners.

asttbe, sorry took so long to reply, I hunted in caney, saw some good young bucks but didn't pull the trigger on any the day after I left the owner saw a big 10 point come out he doesn't hunt so he just watched the buck while he was feeding his cows. might try to go back the last weekend.

This was the first week to ever take vacation for 9 days during rifle season. We went to Smithville Ok. and saw alot of doe's during buck only and not one buck. Sunday we got ready to leave and my brother in law sat in the feild and it was like they new I was headed home because the field lit up with bucks chasing does and he had his pick at a nice 4 X 5. D#@ just my luck!!!.
Was going home from work yesterday and was two blocks from my house where they will not give me permission to hunt and saw the biggest 10 point I ever saw anywhere in this area.:(talking about frustrated.
Going back this weekend and give it another try.
