Alright Okie hunters what are you seeing in the woods? Last weekend my buddy missed a nice 10 pt who was cruising the feild edge at 8:30 AM and on Tuesday another buddy blasted a doe who was with 2 other does and a nice buck (that he didnt see until after he shot the doe). A friend said he saw a nice buck with 3 does at about 4:30 PM on Monday.

What is everyone else seeing? Will be in the woods this weekend and prolly take a couple days off next week as I am hoping the chasing will be full bore.

Whats the story????

Where at Texoma are you at? I live at Wa****a Point. Do you have a lease or do you hunt Corps land?

My wife has been seeing a lot of deer.

We killed 2 nice bucks in Woods county last weekend up by Waynoka. I shot one on Saturday evening when 3 bucks came to a rye field about dark. I shot the biggest of the 3 which turned out to be about a 130 inch 11 point. My cousin shot a nice 10 point the next morning off the same place. There were 19 does on the rye also and the bucks had no interest in them. The buck my cousin shot was a loner. No rut activity yet, but there were starting to beseveral scrapes made that were not there the week before. Good luck Okies.

I've had 3 different small bucks run across the road in front of me on my well-route near mid-day the last 2 days. That's always a sign things are starting to get good. Yesterday I was sitting in a blind in one of my favorite spots trying to fill a doe tag and there was a 6-pt hanging around and 3 or 4 does showed up to drink. Well, the chasing began and they all ran off, but it was good to see.

The bucks have been nosin does around here for about a week now. Haven't seen any bigger bucks yet though...at least not during the daytime. My neighbor got a 230 lb 11 point on opening evening of archery season. It apparently walked right by my empty stand and crossed the fence onto their property. [:@]Glad someone was lucky enough to get him...just wish it could've been me!

Hey Okie-Buck,

What direction from Waynoka were you hunting? I was West-SouthWest of Waynoka about 15 miles. For three days all I saw was about a dozen Mule Deer does. I never saw a buck.

We were hunting about 10 miles NW of Waynoka. I usually hunt South of town myself, but we didnt get our rye and wheat planted down there because it is so dry. We see some muleys once in a while on our land south of town, but I havent seen one big enough to take a shot at yet. Our south place has been covered up with does, but havent seen any good bucks yet. Are you from around that area?

I am from the OKC area. I have access to a couple of leases North of Quinlan. We currently have our leases restricted to harvesting Bucks only.

I did see good Duck numbers though.

I just picked up an 800 acre lease SE of Atoka Sunday. As we were checking out the lease I saw a 6 point, four does and a 9 point. This about 1:00 in the afternoon and they were all out moving.
