Whoa i saw my name listed and thought "who did i make mad now?"ha ha
I will be in the wonderful woods of poison springs . any of you guys show up looking for me i'll be the nut with the BIG gun!!
I couldnt hunt the last weekend of muzzleloader season cause of family visiting. but i will next weekend . i am trying to get over there this weekend but wet weather lookas like it is going to mess me up. i built me a new penthouse top for my favorite coffee drinking stand and want to get it up there and welded up and plushed out for an old man like myself. ( i turned 38 today) i may do it tomorrow in the rain. i hate to get all my tools wet though.
i need some deer steak and gravy . maybe i'll get me one sat morn and run some through the tenderizer . my grandmother is making me some turnip greens . man i can eat then!
Don't kill them all in columbia county or lafeyette co. and good luck>

Southark...Im just 3 months behind you (turn 38 in Feb). Amazing how much bigger and nicer those stands get the older we get, huh? Thats the difference between the 20's and the 30's...in your 20's in August you're at the lake...in your 30's in August you're improving your stand. Yep, give me a little bit of money and an afternoon off and I'm out in the deer woods making sure I'm more comfortable than I was last year
Good luck down there in God's country.

you are so right scrider. prioritys change. i use to want fast cars and now i love my tractor. weekends were spent drinking beer and wild times.now it's drinking mt dew and watching kids or on here.
i like to be comfortable on those cold rainy days. i use to not mind being up a tree in the rain and getting all soaked . now i like to be dry and drink my coffee. a heater is a nice thing to have. i guess some would call us lazy hunters but they probably havent reached our age .
good hunting .

firstbow it will happen to us all. i don't need geritol yet and still have all my teeth!!
And the penthouse stand is just to the north of my SWAMP! i can look south and see the dead trees and yep i have killed a few coming out of it to feed in the pasture. the only head my wife will let me hang in our new living room came out of that swamp.
I don't look at the pictures in penthouse anymore(notice i admitted looking at the pictures ,most don't they just read the articles) cause i don't like to be teased. i think the pictures in deer and deer hunting are a bigger tease but i look.
those big towers are very nice i got some old carpet out here i'm going to put in it.
AHHHHHHH this weekend is coming fast!

yep I'm only 41 and have all my teeth, lost alittle hair though but still dig in the rain, snow, wind, well, just hunt till I drop from Sept.-Jan.1 Then sleep till March
about the penthouse. I used to look at the pictures till I lost my glasses. Not quite blind yet
Yea I can't say to much I own couple of those box stands myself topped, drop down windows.
I've been thinking about some kind of heat to use for one of them but I'm worried about the smells they may give off.

You know a little propane heater works great. propane burns clean, but you could put a tarsal gland over it and really get a smell going!
I really don't get the fever to hunt till it gets just like it is right now!!oh man i am going nuts!
I got good hair just keep it cut short. i keep it shorter now than i did in the army. for almost 8 years i would push the envelope of hair regs. and now i keep it very short. i am old and to lazy to take care of long hair!you know wash it and run a towel and dry!
hey firstbow you one those rogain guys?ha

Propane, you say? Hank Hill special. I hear yuh.
I've seen the small heaters like that. About 6-8" round, sets up on an angle with a brace and the tank screw into the back. Glows red. I thought they would give off a faint smell. Maybe enough to spook the deer. Do you use them?
Hey, ROGAIN, what a joke. Man I wouldn't put that mess on a bald dogs butt.
I've done the Military thing also. 82nd/1stCav/2&59thADA/ and ever and ever and ever.
Once I was out I let my hair grow for 4 years, beard and all sweet revenge. Just 'cause I could.
Naw, once my hair goes alittle farther back, ZIP
thats it. I'll pull a Kojack and shine it.
I was to it for awhile no what I mean?
