RE: Anybody here from the Chapel Hill area???
Hey guys.
I am looking to hunt deer mainly. I will be working at UNCH and living just down the road near Carboro. I see that the Jordan game lands is right there so that looks like a good place to start.
I will be starting the job in July so I plan to ride around and look for fields with deer in the evening and see if I can get permission to bowhunt.
I am mainly looking for a place to bowhunt in the eveningsearly season when there is still time after work. From riding around looking for a place to live it looks like there should be some monsters roamingnearsome of these neighborhoods. I think this might bean opportunity to develop new "small woods" hunting techniques.

Hawgnman-
Man, I wish you guys were closer. I would definately get in on that deal. I have family land to hunt back east on the weekends that I have off so I am mainly looking for something close by the hospital so I can slip into the woods after work before sundown.
Those are some nice looking birds you guys have been taking. Turkey season is out for only a month and I am already planning next years hunt.
I am going to stretch out next year and hit GA, then SC, then NC and hopefully KS. I am just going to follow the season dates to maximize my hunt time.

Well there are plenty of deer. Becareful on the Game lands.... Public lands..There a bunch of Turkeys..as well I saw a big Gobbler this morning while out shooting crows....You should not have any trouble with finding deer to shoot. As a bowhunter there are just as many deer in town as there are on the gamelands

Hey CDover
I looked at Apex when trying to find a place to live, it was just a little too far away from UNCH.
I suspect there are some nice deer around CH. I seems to be very good habitat, lots of hardwoods.
I think the hardest part is going to be figuring out who owns what and securing permission. Looks like there might be a few people there who think deer are for looking at instead of eating
