Default New rifle choices

Ive always wanted a matching set of rifles. Well I found a NEF Sportster to go with my .17 Mach 2 except this one is chambered for .17 HMR
Should I buy the NEF so I can have a match set of .17's or buy the H&R .243 so I can deer hunt and varmint hunt with it? Could one of the moderators make this a poll with the rifles listed below as the options?

H&R Ultra Varmint .243 Winchester - $300.43 after tax
NEF Sportster .17 HMR - $196.63 after tax

hey,
I have a NEF .243 and I love the gun! I shot my first deer with it and today I'm going to take it out coyote hunting. It's cheap to shoot, easy to shoot, fun to shoot, and is almost recoiless. The only problem is its really loud but thats okay cuz when the adreniline is rushing it doesn't seem so loud. So if I were you I would get the .243.

Good luck

The Sportsters are $104 while the .243 Handi's are $188 in Walmart's special order catalog. I ordered my Sportster and had it in my hands one week later.

You should just get the 243. Its a good all around gun and besides you already have the mach2. The 17hmr wont be able to take anything larger than a fox with shooting it more than once.

I like the stats on the 204 ruger and the number 1 ruger stainless falling block got a very good review in shooting times. Ruger came out with a single six hunter in 17hmr and 17mach2. I own a 22lr and 22win mag ruger single six, that my cz 452 22lr bolt and my 870 20ga. combo, and maybe my 12ga. benelli round out my small game collection.

Rossi also makes those match sets, former co-worker bought one for son very pleased with it.
