Have you guys seen the new .17 MACH 2 ?

I talked to the CCI guys about it at the SHOT Show. You can see my blurb about it on page 1. SHOT Show

T/C also has a really nice looking semi-auto made just for that round. (the R55)

Savage also has a bunch of rifles chambered for 17 Mach 2.

Id have to say that you cant even campare the 17hmr to the 22lr. A 17 will out shoot it any day.
I agree 100%. I picked up a .17hmr last spring and have not looked at my .22 since then. It is alot of fun to plink with and does a hell of a job on beavers. I even quit using my shotgun on small game because I am always curious to see what damage that round will do on a critter. My .22lr is basically useless to me now, I have spoiled myself.

The 22WMR is a nice round and thats what I used until I got my 17hmr there both good rounds but the 17 shoots alot flatter and faster. It sure is a hot little bullet.

yea Ive seen them but prosonly they took away the only thing the 17hmr has going for it and that its speed. they both are very accurate and they have both built up a following but for the price difference in shell i would go 17hmr.

www.rimfirecentral.com has lots of info on both rounds if your interested.

for me the 22 is the best small game rifle out there today but a .17 can shoot much farther but the shells cost more than a 22. with me 22 i can shot squirrels about 75 yards away right in the head every time

i was sceptical about the 17hmr but once i saw the descruction it does to gophers i knew i need one. sure ammos expensive but when you see a gopher get split in 2 and get blow out of it hole 3 feet it will win you over.
