RE: Got a rare one tonight!

Here's a link to some of my trapping photo's from last year and this year. I clicked a few photo's of the bucket sets I was using for arctic fox.

I didn't want to risk not skinning the fox out perfectly, so I headed to the Tannery and had them skin it out for me. The taxidermist that I had talked to said he would take the fur raw, and tan it and mount it for me. The fella at the local tannery forgot that I told him I wanted it raw, and he already tossed it in the tanning solution. Instead of a 3-6 week turn on the full body mount, I'm looking at a 6 month turn on tanning, and another 3-6 months at the taxidermists. Ah well, patience is a virtue so they say. :)

Bowman, you've a fine home page and some real nice pics. Congrats on a fine fox of a rare color. I thought some of your other skins show on your site were also quite good ones, if not a rare color.

Also liked the buckeet sets you use. I may have to buy some connibears and give that a try here in mi. Will your bucket sets take down a yote quickly?

thanks.

thanks for the nice reply's guys.

Craig, the bucket sets that I use are with 220 conibears. I can't get red fox to go into them, so I would think you would have problems getting yotes in them. I would recommend the 330 conibears for them. I have a 10-15 gallon bucket that I use for it, but I don't cut the slot out in it.

The 220's are almost too small for the arctics, but they are such opportunistic feeders that they will crawl into small places for any chance at food.

Great job. The fox looks great. I wish I could see one of those while I have my rifle in my hands. I dont really have enough money to get a full body mount but I would tan the hide.
