Default how do you call a coyote?

When i call coyotes they ignore me. How can i get them interested in my call? please help! THANKS!

When i call the coyotes they just keep walking. sometimes they will look and be curious but they don't respond. I have walked and when i see them i try to stalk and that works prety good. I use a cotton tail distress call and sometimes make a small temperary blind. I have seen coyotes about 250 yards away and they just sit and watch me, even when i call.
I have used bait to but that does not work any better.

KillerX, it's kind of hard to guess what may be going wrong while you're calling. It may be something to do with the mind set of the coyotes, may be the way that you're calling, maybe they are call shy. I don't know if you're using an electronic caller or mouth blown calls, and are just starting or have ya had success in the past. If the area that you're calling isn't got anyone else calling it, then they should come to about anything as far as distress sounds. Are you putting good excitement in your calling, are ya seeing the coyotes, and they won't come to ya, how do ya know that they are ignoring you? Make sure that they are not seeing you before you start calling, make sure they can't see your vehicle while you're trying to call them in. Make sure you don't have anything shiny that they may be seeing from a distance. That's just a couple suggestions that I can think of without knowing a bit more info from ya.Let us know more info, maybe we can figure out what may be going wrong, if anything, sometimes those coyotes just are too smart, not hungry enough, too call shy, call educated, etc.

howler just about coverd it,the only thing i might add is when or if you happen to see them milling around you might want to concider not trying to stalk them.a coyote is very difficult to stalk up on,if this is what your doing then they very well might know what you are and what your up to before you start calling.once they have this knowlege they will not respond and very well may seem like there ignoring you.if you have areas where you know theres coyotes then before the hunt find and set up stands in locations with the wind in your favor.when entering these areas to hunt go in very quietly and directly to your already scouted stand site ans sit down.wait a few minutes for things to settle down and then begin calling.try it this way and see what happens.

If I see one sit down and look at me at 250 yards, that is a good day. If you are seeing them while hunting, You are doing better than I for the last 2 years. My suggestion is get you a bigger scope and take them.

I'm not sure if you are a beginner or not but my mistake when I first started calling was making the distress sound more like a baby crying. Someone told me that a rabbit has a very small lung capacity and can't wail like a baby. There are probably other factors as well this is just a thought. When I call I just sit still well camoflaged and I just wait for them to come to me. I havn't had any success stalking coyotes. I haope you can find out what the coyotes want so you can bag a few. Good luck.
