Gotta love a good treeing feist! Used to have one or two myself. Would love to have another. Great looking dog.

This is a really fat CA ground squirrel that lives near my house next to Burger King. I'm working on a plan to cure it's obesity.

I didn't know that squirels were cannibals. I shot this one with my pellet rifle and some other squirrels ate all the flesh off it's arm. I left it there to see it they would continue, and they did.....

I didn't know that about being canibals either. I do recall a long time ago i saw another one eating or sniffing at an body of one of its buddy's but it was at a distance so it was hard to tell what it was actually doing.

BHW, appears you take your squirrel hunting very seriously. Great pics!

Jumpshootin, never heard of a tree fiest dog, but is sure appears to do a job on the squirrels. What kind of breed is it?

It's a Feist. He's a UKC registered Treeing Feist. They have been using these little dogs on squirrels in the deep south for many generations. Check out this link: www.sqdog.com or this one: http://www.ukcdogs.com/curfeist/index.shtml

Jumpshootin,

Thanks for the follow up. I have never heard of a Feist. Learn a new thing everyday. Must be a fun way to hunt squirrels!

Tks,
