would agree anything smaller then the 243(some folks will say the 243 is to small)will not handle deer with any consitancey.but works good on coyotes with out blowing them up.but the 243 is a little excessive for fox and bobcats.

A 243 is what I shot one buck w/ this year and I shot at a yotte today(Missed) great calibre. A 2506 is a great chioce as well. Flat and fast. My huntin partner hunts moose w/ his w/ a 120 grain Grand Slams. Super deer gun.

.243, .25-06, .260. I use a 7.62x39mm SKS (a .30 cal), but it's not great at much more than 125 yrds for anything. I've also used a .30-06 with 110 grain handloads for coyotes, and it's definately enough for deer. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
