I have seen on a long time ago but at a distance. It could have been a dog but it sure looked like a yote to me.

they (black coyotes) are found right here in upstate NY. Each year, I see 2 or 3 that get taken with the dogs

when i was deer hunting i saw an all black one and my uncle mistoook a really big one coming towards him for a doe

THE BLACK COYOTES ARE NOT WOLVES. WE HAVE KILLED SEVERAL.

That would make a great mount! My dad and uncle have both shot black coyotes with their bows, but neither of them found the yote. They both ran into thick canes and briars and they lost the track of both of them after about 3 hours of searching.

I live in SouthWest Virginia bordering the Jefferson national forest and i hear alot of howling at night and see alot of coyote sign around in the woods and tracks in the snow comming to and from deer carcuses. i downloaded the howl of the coyote and the howl of the nearly extinct gray wolf in this area and the deep howling of the grey wolf matched alot more to what i was hearing at night. Well to get to the point i was traveling down a trail the other day and came up on a field and in the middle of that field i seen what i thought was dogs but i got to looking and 3 where a real light tan kinda color about like a german shepard in size but a little bit lighter in color with long tails that where very bushy and the length of the tail was about equal to the length of the body and one of the 4 animals i seen was solid jet black in color they ran about 100 yards into the edge of the woods and stopped and looked at me and i turned around and went the other way i never seen them in 15 years before then and probebly will never see them again ive been going out with a camera trying to get a picture so maybe that will soon happen i was just wondering what it was i saw and could it posibly be the grey wolf? but from what ive seen on here the black coyote does exist.
