Hey guys, I've got a little bit of a coyote problem on my property that I use for deer and turkey hunting, so i'm going to do a little coyote hunting this summer. Can anyone reccomend any calls I should buy, and are there any strategies or techniques I should know? I am hunting in mostly hardwoods and swamps.

I would recommend buying a few different distress calls, the mini-blaster I particularly like .. won't cost you much, maybe $30 for 2 or 3 different sounding ones.

Then just get out there and try it .... think wind direction and camo and stay still.

If you are going to hunt the summer .. hunt later summer. Coyotes like every other animal have young they support in spring and early summer and while hunting predators to aid your turkey and deer populations is a good idea .. it is still hunting. Killing an animal cleanly with a bullet or trap is one thing .. but having a litter of pups die of starvation isn't exactly ethical ... in my opinion.

You'll get hooked fast if you try it ... it's a lot like turkey hunting .. with a longer season!

some good preditor calls are from the vermintors.com tweety and thumper are there destres calls they can also do hurt pup as well as can dan thompsons red desert howler

dan thompson has a few calls pc 1,2 and 3 and some others they are all good but the first one i mentioned can do any sound its most versitile call out i use all these calls personaly they work for me very well.
