A bad day of rabbit hunting is still a good day.

Went out Saturday and didn't get anything. My buddies got three. I left kind of bumbed out. Then, later at home I started to think about how much fun I had. Now, I can't wait to go again next weekend.

anyday in the woods is fine. there are many times we go out and never pull a trigger. it is just great to hear the dogs maken music. if you don't pull the trigger you don't have to clean any. it is fun to just stand still at times to see how close the bunny will come to ya. we always say don't kill them if your not going to eat them. you are right they are a blast to hunt. i have been tring to upload a picture of an albino cottontail to show you guys be i can't get it to go. any ideas

the best rabbit hunting seems to be along the sides of creeks in the flats. around here we stay with 2 or 3 hundred yards of houses in the thickits. always seems to be more rabbits close to areas where some grass is cut low and is green like a lawn. they like to feed on the young tender grass and clover. i train beagles and i mow rabbit trails where we train. seems to really draw them to the area. anywhere around crab apple trees or just any apple trees in the flats seem to be a excellent spot. the mowwed trails draw all kinds of animals to the area.

look in your game book. here in pa. we hunt them pretty much from oct to feb. there is a break in the middle for dear season but that about all. the late season or the second season guys call it you have the woods to yourself seems most hunters quit hunting after deer season. see ya
