I never bothered for a normal ole "off the shelf" crossman or daisy pellet gun, but, if you want a better shooter it might warrant a good cleanin. Not a whole lot to foul the barrel other than lead from the pellets.
If you get you one of those 1 piece rods and tips made for the 17HMR's it'll work just great!
