never tried a 22 mag but i'm lookin to get my hands on one. I shoot quite a few beavers with my 22 and use cci stinger hollow points. They seem to work alright but once and a while u need just a little more jam.

I have the same gun as you do. I love it. I kill a lot of squirrels with it. I like CCI hollow points and rem. v-max bullets. Both shoot a group about the size of my thumbnail at 100 yds. Win. shoots well out of mine also but at a different point of impact. Mine, however doesn't shoot the CCI's that are loaded with specialty bullets very well (such as the TNT and Speer Gold Dot). If you are mostly hunting at close ranges ( 100 or less) the CCI hollow points do excellent but if you are shooting further or just want to do more damage try the v-max. From my tests the hollow points don't expand after 100 yards but the v-max still explodes at 150 and mushrooms at 200. If you sight in at 100 you should be good on squirrels from about 20 to 120 without having to hold different. At 150 it will shoot about 6 inches low and at 200 about 14. I hope this helps some.

I shoot a Winchester 9422 in .22 Mag. Had some problems with one of the Winchester specialty loads a few years ago (wouldn't eject an unfired round (head space problem?)) anyway, use the CCI Maxi Mag solids for everything now with good success. Took a young coyote this fall at about 80 yds. with good results. They are great on squirells too even if I miss the head shot, they come down quick.
