That's a big coyote. As you know, the Eastern coyotes get a bit larger than the Westerns do. They have killed a few males near our ground in Western Maryland that have been 55-60 pounds.
I wonder how much that one weighed? I wouldn't be surprised if it crossbred with a dog. That would be very possible, but the offspring are sterile from what I hear.

The more I look at the pic the less I beleive it is authentic. The head and body just don't seem to belong together. the head seems to small, there's no grey on it to match the body and the way that leg is tucked under the throat looks suspicious. IMOA.

i saw a similar pic on www.trapperman.com u can tell in that pic that it is a real animal, no body is holding the head or anything like that. check it out. i forgot what the thread was called but it is similar to BIG COYOTE.

Well, You'll have a hard time convincing me that that is a coyote. It's darn near the same size as the deer, now there are big coyotes around in the east, but not that big. And even the head(face) looks like wolf too me. I cry WOLF on this one

I'm thinkin' it's a pet wolf that was released due to irreconcilable differences. I woudn't want to claim that thing as a pet either if I was the owner! It makes my Lab look very well-behaved!
