Wish I had a camera
My friend and I went squirrel hunting this morning and I saw something I have never seen in my 15 years of hunting.A MINK
We were standing next to a blowdown when I caught movement off to my left.I couldn' t tell what it was at first until it jumped on a log.I whispered to my buddy " a mink to my left" .It just kept getting closer and closer until it was about 10-15 FEET not yards. Then it put it' s front legs on an old log and just looked at me for about 3 minutes.Man that would have been an awesome picture. It was close enough that I could see the wiskers on it and even blinking.I just thought that was neat to see.
Has anyone else ever saw one in the wild while hunting.I have seen them cross roads at nighttime but have never seen them in daylight.

RE: Wish I had a camera
only saw one in the wild.I' ll bet that would have been a nice pic.
Red Hawk ; a mink is sorta like a weasle or a ferritt.
they make mike coats from them(or did at one time)now they use farm raised ones in Germany and the Alpes;where it very cold!the cold makes the fur thicker.
