Default new trapper

I have been trying to get into the trapper education course so I can get my trapper tag for the last 2 years and they only have 1 class a year in my area and it fills up almost instantly. Finally I got to schedule it in time. I cant wait. Its a 2 day course and then they give me my certification and im ready to start trapping. Where I am theres not a lot of different kinds of animals to trap legally but the 3 main ones are coyote, fox, and beaver. So I am new to all of this but I have been doing my research and homework over the past year just learning the basics. If there is anything anyone can shed light on feel free. I want to get as much knowledge as I can before the class in October. I have a 46 acre piece of private swampland that I own that i don't hunt deer on because I own 1 other piece that i use specifically for whitetail(and a few other spots) but this 46 acre piece is basically 80% swamp with a stream running through the center of most of it. Some of the stream is wide and deep and some of it is very narrow and overgrown. On the outer edges of my property is oak flats and a couple decent size fields that the state owns that's part of WMA and it buts right up to my piece. There is a lot of very thick briars, a lot of open swamp and a lot of overgrown thick swamp. On the East and West end of my piece where the state land bumps up to my land is no swamp and all oaks and pines. Im just giving a basic idea of the layout of the land to see what everyone thinks and maybe any ideas on how to trap it right. Any other info on trapping would be great. Thanks guys

Sounds like a good Coon spot, or are they not an option?

Best trap tags around... You'll need these to ID your traps.

Buy some dog proof traps: Sterling Grizz traps or Coon Dagger traps. Check out PCS Outdoors or FNT Post

Also buy a few instructional videos on trapping:

K Williams.

I'm from Jersey also; live in SoCal now.

Did my trapping off the Raritan river back then.
