man i cant wait for the season to start!! them little reds are tricky little guys with a 22..heck ive only taken one in 5 years now and alot of the time i had a shotgun! they never sit still!! i got one with a 22...it was in a broken off limb barking up a storm..i thought it was the mother of all tree rats for all the noise he made...got the scope on him and dropped him...so small i had trouble finding him....i didnt know he was a little red..i thought i got me a great big fox squirrel...congrats...looks like a great day out to me...i love squirrels with a 22 and rarely take anyhting else unless im " small game" hunting....kinda hard to take a flushing grouse with a scoped 22 lol.....nice pic too i like that....good job!

Great job! I got a fox and a grey squirrel this morning as well. First time I used my new 870. I was walking down an old overgrown logging road as soon as I got in the woods and right off the bat I saw the grey sitting in the middle of the road 30-40 ft. in front of me. He just sat there while I took him. An hour later I was a good ways off the road and spotted the fox running around a tree. I had a blast, can' t wait to go out again.

Those will cook up nice, I' m taking my first trip of the year this weekend. I sure hope I can get a couple to take home. Tree' s are still so thick I probably won' t be able to get any shots but there' s no better way to spend a weekend.

Way to go!! I love to eat squirrel!!! So next year I plan on buying myself a brand spankin' new gun in the hot new .17 caliber with a 4X12 power scope!!
I always wanted to get very serious about this sport and next year is the year for sure!! I would like to get a CZ-452 American in .17 cal. From what I' ve read so far, 1/2" groups at 100 yards is almost the norm with this gun!! Talk about taking head shots!!!!

If you want to go squirrel hunting go to my homeland, Texas. We have more squirrels than we can say grace over. Only you can' t really hunt them with a rifle, you more have to use a BB or pellet gun because they are so plentiful and you can get right up next to them. It also makes it more fun without a scope here. I have chances to shoot them right out of my bed room window, only its illegal and the bullet if I missed,(I don' t ) would go right into the neighbors house.
