As previous years went, any type of squirrel will count. No chipmunks. To be scored you at least need a picture of the tails. PREFERABLY a picture of the whole squirrel with the gun. Signups will run through the end of august and then I will make the teams.
If someone wants to sign up late, I am ok with allowing people in throughout the season, but if anyone opposes that let me know. The more the better, in my opinion. If your season starts earlier than september 1st, then go ahead and post your kills and it will be for whatever team you end up on.
The attached picture is a good example of how to take a photo.

I have a SS Taurus Tracker in .22 lr, and .22 magnm.
Thats what I use forsquirrels.

Yes it is. I've used it the past few years for a couple hunts each year, makes it a little more challenging, that's for sure!

My season actually opened in May, but I'm gonna hold off hunting rats 'til Jake NoShoulders leaves town. I've already seen 2 copperheads and 4 velvet tails since the drought started. I guess they're looking for water. We got about an inch from Isaac's remnants, but it didn't even kick in the wet weather springs-ground's like Quikrete again.

Those timber rattlers are pretty snakes! What dates does your season run?? Opening in may, sounds like it might be a long season.

Shooting Hours: 30 Minutes Before Sunrise Until 30 Minutes After Sunset
Limits: Daily limit is 12. Possession limit is 48.
More: Squirrels may not be hunted with rifles or pistols larger than .22 caliber rimfire or with muzzleloaders larger than .40 caliber unless a modern gun or muzzleloading deer season, bear season or coyote season is open. Squirrels may not be hunted with shotguns using rifled slugs or shot larger than T shot."

I try to get up under a nut tree before daylight to hunt greys (rats, not aliens :alien: ), and Jake's everywhere right now!

I'll give it a week, and then, :fighting0007:, snakes or no snakes.

Supposed to be 48 Monday morning; maybe they'll be scurrying around and I can pop one.

I went out last saturday, our opener, for about an hour in the AM. But it was still very hot. Tomorrow the high is 68, so the morning should be perfect!

Now Weather Underground's saying 48 for a low Sat AM, with 7 mph winds. I'm itching to get out there, windy or not. Gotta be hickory trees in the bottoms with rats in 'em...:s3:

Tex3797, hunting in the WV mountains for the bushy tails using my Model 55 Marlin 20 Gauge Bolt Action, should have decent time to hunt this year since the deep mine I work at is only working 3 days a week due to falling market, so happy hunting fellas!
