Default Prep DP Coon Trap Before Use? Modifications?

Just bought a few of the Dukes DP coon traps & was wondering if they had to be prepped before use like the coil spring traps with dyeing or waxing? I'm sure they'll have the light coat of grease from them sitting in storage to prevent rusting so that will have to be removed but what should I do to them before using them? Any kind of modifications like swivels needed or recommended?

So does no one use "dog proof" traps or are no modifications needed to use them? Just wondering, they're supposed to come on the 4th & I'll be setting them out soon after. Thanks.

Go on YouTube and type in "dog proof coon trap", "pcsoutdoors", or "sterling grizz". Tons of videos. No prep needed from what I've seen. Bait them & set them, anchor them with an earth anchor or rebar stake. FnT Post or PCS Outdoors should have all the supplies needed.
