22 lr would be all you need .

A .22 cal. with a good 4 power scope would be an excellent gun for you for squirrel hunting. But to be truthful to you I would suggest a good 20ga. shotgun. Being 12yrs old, I' m sure your going to want to hunt more than just squirrels. I don' t know where your from, but with a good shotgun it' ll allow you more hunting. Like rabbits, and bird hunting. Just a thought, But I' d think this one out before you go with a .22 alone. Have a great day buddy.

a .22, or sometimes a 20 gauge or .410 but I recommend a .22- GOOD LUCK![8D]

Squirrel!!!! Man thats some tough game you need at leat a .338 well you might be able to get away with a 30-06 but im not sure on that one... go get em BigShooter.

I also use a .22 LR . Thats all you need for squirrel hunting
