Default 204 ruger

picked up a T/C the other day in 204 and know nothing the round other then it is a small game round which leads to the question just how big of an animal is it designed for?

Own a Savage in .204, and it's a shooter.

Coyotes (40 gr. V-max), varmints and small game.

It's a great round for any critters up to coyotes.A bit overkill/expensive for squirrels/rabbit size buy it will reach way-way out there.

I have 3 .204 Rugers all on TC frames...they are some of my prairie dog rifles. I consider the .204 to be adequate for game animals up to 40-50 lbs tops and at that size out to 300 yds. or so. No doubt it has the reach and flat trajectory but there is only so much you can do with 32-40 gr. bullets.

Works real well for long range pasture poodles, up to coyotes, and everything in between.
