I'm a Pennsylvanian in Arizona for a week and am going to try hunting a few coyotes this weekend. Back home, the guys who seem to know advocate calling very softly for eastern coyotes but say to call loud in the west.

Any pointers from any Arizona yote hunters?

If you are successful back east, do the same out west and you'll be fine.

Remember, noice travels well in open space (wind is your biggest concern).


Call softly and remain motionless as much as possible.

Shoot straight. Hide well. Play the wind.
