Default Best Coyote Choke tube

what is the best coyote choke tube? for either a mossberg 835 super mag or rem 870 mag. the moss, is set up for turkeys with with a primos tight wade choke. Should I just use that or is there a more effective choke for coyotes? Have some heavy shot dead coyote load as well as OO buck.

thoughts on chokes and loads please.

thanks,
Dave

A full choke will work for both.

Carlson makes a dead coyote choke tube designed for larger shot sizes and heavy shot. Ive patterned the 3.5 dead coyote loads along with some #4 buckshot and have good patterns out to 60 yards. I havent patterned anything farther than that. With that choke and winchester 3.5 inch #4 buckshot I consitently get 5+ hits inside a 10 inch circle at 60 yards.

Only possible way for YOU to know the answer to your question is to PATTERN YOUR shotgun with the loads you're wanting to use. Every shotgun is different. Pattern yours and you'll answer your question. There is no short cut to it! Just because someone gets good patterns with a certain load and choke, does NOT mean that your results will be the same.

I was mistaken on my last post, it was an 8 inch circle not a 10 inch. Either way howler is right. You can get suggestions on different loads and chokes all day long but it doesnt mean they will work well out of your gun. I spent a couple hours using 4 different chokes and 4 different loads to come up with what works for me. Let me tell you after about 20 rounds of the 3.5 inch #4 buckshot and the 3.5 inch dead coyote loads I was feeling it. Its really no different than getting your turkey gun set up, if you did it right you played around with different loads to make sure you had a good pattern.
