Default Coyote Behavior

Gonna be headed to Utah in Mid March, and while there have a couple of client visits to attend to.

One of them suggested I bring a rifle and we can go hunting for coyotes and other predators on the Utah/Nevada border (as was just profiled in Outdoor Life) though someone else told me its not a good time to go cause coyotes will be denned up and not really coming out to hunt.

Any thoughts? What can I expect to have available for shooting. When do coyotes den up to have litters? Even if the bitches are in dens, won't the males be out hunting?

If they have pups they have to hunt to keep the milk flowing, and later to bring back to the pups.
