Are these coyote tracks?

its hard to tell from the pic is thier claw marks in front of the track?

The track was in real dry snow, so it wasn't well defined.

i would guess by the size and shape they are fox tracks. coyote tracks are generally bigger but the placement of the middle toes on a coyote are farther apart and evenly spaced with the outer toes. the fox's middle two toes are close together and farther away from the outer two toes. thats just my guess hope it helps

I would have to go with bobcat... Usually Coyote tracks have claw marks but Its hard to tell because Like you said it wasnt the best snow for that.

I agree. The claws (or lack there of) seems to say its either a fox or a cat of some sort (bobcat??) Best of luck

It would be easier to tell if you could show a picture with several paw prints so we could see the pattern. A coyote will leave a straight line of paw prints where as a cat will have a staggered print pattern. From just those two paw prints, I'd say coyote.

yes howler is right i trailed 2 coyotes yesterday andi could tell they were coyotes by the claws the straight trail and the size of the tracks.
