Default Quick question about city squirrel hunting.

I recently read that city squirrels are dangerous to eat or touch, due to rabies and diseases. Is this true? Can I eat a squirrel I shot in the suburbs?

I don't think they will be any different from squirrels in the country.

City squirrels are no different from their country cousins other than diet. The most hazardous thing about them is the "no discharge" ordinance that you'll be violating if you hunt them, most cities have such an ordinance.

Back in the day when I was in college, I use to trap them at the local city parks using 110-2 Victor conibears. Am surprised none of my traps ever got messed with. I did hide them too, and maybe no one suspected anything, so they went unnoticed. LOL!
