I was wondering what you guys think is the best place to find squirrels around this time of year? What areas should i hunt to get the best results? Any suggestions?

I find a lot of squirrels in areas where deer hang out. Which is generally where there are sources of food such as what acorns are left over and around creeks. I have seen a lot in thick brushy areas with white oaks and other large trees around a creek.

Most squirrels will stick within a 1.5 mile radius of their den. Look for areas we're you've notice them feeding in the past. By now most red squirrels will be looking for any bit of food they can so they'll often go back to areas looking even though they may not find anything. Also, many times you see many squirrels fighting after the same food source. which makes for opportunities at more than one squirrel.
