killed a black coyote

It is definetely a coyote, not a cross. I caught one a few years ago trapping. What I was told, is that in growing populations of yotes, there are higher numbers of color phases. Once the population has stabilized, the new pups "revert" back to regular colors. The white chevron on the chest is not uncommon in yotes. They make awesome mounts and are as pretty rare, like shooting a 12pt buck. If all the pieces are there, any taxidermist worth his salt, could repair it.
