Default I'm torn.

I've been looking at buying a new squirrel/rabbit/maybe coyote gun. My little bitty Marlin Cricket is a little small because im now 6'0 not 4'5. lol

Is the .17 too much for squirrels? Headshots are something i can do, im not too concerned about saving meat my grandma cant tell when theyre shot in the head or the chest.
Thanks for the help.

I just converted to a 17 from a 22 for squirrels. I don't think its as messy as people say it is. Its also fairly easy to make a head shot on a squirrel with that caliber from far away. GO FOR THE 17

Considering you have 6 bills and want an iphone also.....an open sight 22 Marlin is in your price range. A 17 with rings, scope, sling, and ammo add up. They more than likely are going to bust your budget. That is unless iphones are now under $350.

I also am a bigger person and I looked into getting a Savage 64. They have pretty good package deals on them. however, i've held BB guns that feel more like a gun than the 64. As soon as I held one in the store I put it down and never thought about it again.

I was then about to buy a 10/22 until I held a Reminton 597. The 597 is a very good feeling gun. It fit me very well and didn't feel like junk like many .22 do. you can tell this gun was designed for adults. The mag isn't exposed and its very accurate right out of the box.

I highly recommend it and it was only $159.

BTW, many folks complained about the mag on this gun but remington has fixed it and it is a great mag that feeds very well and is easy to load. The 25 rd mag doesn't feed very well but its still fun to have.

Let us know what you go with
