Default Preserveing tails

How do you guys preserve your squirrel tails. One of these days I know I'm gonna break down and shoot one while deer hunting. lol

Split tail, remove bone, and apply borax to skin.

on my coyote i just cut the tail off at the base filled a vase up half way with borax put the tail bone and all in the borax put some plastic wrap and a rubber band to hold it over the top shake the vase to coat the tail and let sit for a mont or two shaking every couple days to keep it coated
