I got back into trapping last year cause my son wants to learn the trade. We trapped mainly coons, I like the bucket set. I get buckets from local
restruants and place them near trees and such where coon take a dump.
I place the bucket on its side with the handle down and stake two homemade rebar stakes each side of it. It I can not use a tree or limb for a back stop then I place another stake. I put a little eye appeal in the bucket like fish or a cotton ball with shell fish oil on it. A 220 coni bear is firmly placed in front of the bucket and a little fish oil is place ontop of the bucket. I brush the bucket and trap up some and usually within 2 or 3 days I have a coon. Sometimes you can catch 2 coons at the same set. This can also be set around ponds where coon sign is found. I have cought red foxes and one bobcat with this type of set.
This coming year I will teach my son how to trap fox, coy. and bobcats.
We will be using snares at fences, around open fields or trails I use a quick set. Find a tree around sing and make a flat set at the base of the tree, attach the trap to a 18 inch stake. Now using fishing line tie a peice of chicken above the trap so that the animal will have to jump for the chicken and still not be able to reach it. They will jump for the chicken and land in the trap. I also spray the trunk of the tree with fox urine to help bring them in. Good Hunting.

dirt hole flat set combo. drill the hole out put bait in it and cover it over with dirt and leaves. don't pack it. spray some urine about 5 feet away. other foxes will look for the food scent. unlike seeing a hole dug out, they might think the bait has been eaten so some will pass. but if they see fresh dirt and no hole and smell food they will start search for the burial hole.also spray chicken blood around hole. use from chicken liver. the fox will cover the blood one place and hide the body else where to.

Drive them in at an angle it makes it basically impossible for the (Animal) to get out
