Default Eating Varmits

I've been wondering if anyone actually eats varmits such as racoons, possums, or coyoties. The next time I get something I'm gonna try to cook and eat it. I've actually found some recipes for coon and possum but haven't tried them yet.

I came really close to eatin the last coyote I shot. I almost made jerky out of it and was gonna do it just to try it. I don't know how it tastes. Opossum seems like it'd be too nasty to me. Coon would be a new one too. Try it and let us know how the stuff tastes.

Actually coon used to be my favorite dish. My grandmother use to bake it and serve it with sweet potatoes. Man you talk about good eating. When I got older, I lost a taste for it. Probably b/c of the amount I ate when I was a boy. Now Opposum, I never ate but if push came to shove, I'd eat him too..

I heard the trick to possum is you can't just kill one and try to eat it. You have to live trap them and "clean them out" for a few weeks by feeding them sweet potatoes, corn, bread, you know, stuff that ain't dead and stinking. The only thing is, every possum I have ever gotten close to already smelled like it had been dead awhile. Too nasty for me to fool with. Then again, ever plucked a chicken? Talk about a nasty critter....
