Default Sounds for Gray Fox???

Well over yonder where I live we've got a bunch of these little guys running around and I really want to try and call a few in but Im not sure what calls will work best for them? I have a few rabbit in distress calls, a squeeky rodent sounding thing, and the Primoslil dog setthat you can make some good sounds with but Im not sure which would be good to use or if anyone knows of a certain call that really works good for grays?

Thanks!!

BHB

I have been out spot lighting some people's property here lately and have seen quite a few of them. I have the Primos Lil Dog calls too and have used the green one without the horn to call them into rocking throwing distances! These ones around here seem very stupid. I have even just lip squeaked and them and have had them run around the Jeep while it is running and with the lights on.

I have only seen them once during the day time hours and it was moving quick!

Just a couple quick squeak on the green caller is all that it normally takes to get their attention. Some more shorts calls to get them running right at you.

Yodledog3 is rite! They will come sit strait in your lap...especially GREY fox....the best ive found is Woodpecker in Distress, Medowlark Distress, or Rodent Distress...i use electronic calls and throw my laniard around my neck and blow the ol' mouthcalls during the callling session.

The sound I have had the best luck with for gray fox is "gray fox pups in distress"followed closely by any of the Johnny stewart woodpeckers sounds from their Cds

Make a noise like easy food and any critter that hasn't had too much pressure will usually come a running for lunch. Just figure what you would do if you needed food and had to find and then run down a cow usually, but you heard one moo like it was hurt. The race would be on and you would fight some for it if you needed to cause the expenditure of energy would still be less than how you usually found food. Or better go to main street and get a sign saying FREE LUNCH and see if you don't have more than a few people stop for that. If you have any rodent in distress sounds its going to be on.
