    I have started trapping a little with my 5 year old son. We caught a coon the very first night of season and then I took the canoe and went to the river. You should have saw his face when we pulled this in the boat. She only weighed 36 lbs but this is the first beaver that we have ever caught. Memories to last a lifetime.

    only 36lbs that sounds pretty big to me. What's the average weight?

    I know some guys that have caught some over 50 lbs. This is all new to me though.
