it just occured to me that i can download mp3 call sounds onto my mp3 player and use a speaker connection in the field. why buy a expensive call??? does anyone have any experience doing this?

Remote range, sound quality, sound clarity, durability and volume to name just a few.

Folks have been building their own callers for 30 years, or more, and some have had great success with their home-grown units. Some of the expensive ecallers on the market today are no better than a jerry-rigged MP3 player, some units out there are lightyears ahead.

It'd be a good way to start: but if you continue hunting coyotes for a while... you'll understand why the more expensive callers are being sold.

hey blacklab that looks great...i saw it on his website...did u soder those wires or just strip and electric tape?

albinodesertrat, I just blacked taped it. In 20/20 hindsight I would use wire connectors w/ black tape. Not that I had any probs with just tape. But that it would be more secure

black lab...the wire connectors ae a good idea, but like you said im sure duck/electrical tape will do fine
