Default Rabbit trapping

Ok, I need some advise on what is the best way to catch rabbits in a trap. What type of trap? and what type of bait. One person says to use a box trap with the open end of 3 inches,I hear of people catching rabbits with red fox lure in trap? Is that true you think? So lets here some rabbit catching tips. Oh, by the way I need these rabbits alive! Thanks for your response!

If your wanting them alieve,i'd suggest a havahart trap.If your just going to kill them and eat them when you get to them,i'd suggest a leg trap.I always use leg traps and cut up an apple and put in it.But I just shoot em in the head when I get to em."Me loves to eat me some rabbit"!!!

Make yourself a wooden box trap with apple as bait, rabbit gets ahold of apple, door falls.

I'd say abox trap is best to keep 'em alive (havaharts are nice but pretty expensive). snares if you're gonna eat em. Apples or beans are great baits. Beans should keep a little longer than Apples will and the rabbits in my area love 'em

Box trap will catch them quick. Apple slice as bait.

You are dead right. Just find some old lumber and build them it's very easy.

Just before you set out the trap rub it all over with half an onion, this gets rid of man scent and the rabbits seem to come in from a lot further than usual. Still use a piece of apple as bait.

use a leg hole trap they work just as good as nething else...but if your wanting them uninjured then a cage trap works FINE too...u can set a little bit of corn on the plate or dig a hole, put the corn in the hole, and the leghole or cage trap over the hole so they try n work to get it and KA-BLAM!
