Default starting to trap....

any rules u guys thinki should know about to keep me out of trouble, mostly looking for racoons in georgia, tips also welcome

Most states have trapping organizations and have their own websites. If that is the case in Georgia it would be a good start. If not, you should check out the magazine Fur, Fish, and Game.

search on the internet. its non stop learning on here. one thing about coons ive learned dont make the set to difficult make it fast and easy. good luck

I have never caught coons in footholds,but I catch about 15-20 a year in live traps for removal for nuisance purposes for farmers.They will walk right in a box trap for tuna fish,peanut butter,jelly,dog food or cat food soaked in meat grease.they should be easier than most other animals to trap.You are probably going to catch a few oppossums also.good luck!!

Thanks guys, put a live box trap out in a creek bed on the river baited with peanut butter, caught a 15 pounder will try to get photos up soon hopefully, did end up catching a possum tho

It is not even coon trapping season yet. If I were you I would stop trapping coon right now.
