Default havahart Question

i recently inherited a 32x12x10 havahart. the door spring has aparently come off at some point because it's not there lol. Anyone know how/where to get a new "door loop" (as havahart calls it)?
Is it possible to rig up a standard hardware store spring? any ideas?

I would really like to put this trap to use as it is in about 75% condition other than the spring problem

please help?[&:]

(i can take/post pics if you want)

If it"s a coil spring, try to use a spring from the hardware store. you can make the spring shorter if you need to by cutting off some of the coils, and holding the last coil against the corner of a vise, or somthing hard and hit it with a hammer to bend the last full coil pupindicullar to the spring body. If it" the trap that has two doors maybe you can wire one door shut and try that. I have the same trap, and it works good for coon ,opossom, and even squirls. good luck.

it i checked out their models and it loocks like this one. The small metal piece that is bent over is the part that's missing. i'm not sure if it's any "special" metal or is it basically a piece of sheet metal? i'm trying to think of ways to attach a coil spring

Maybe your best bet is just bait the trap, and put it where you have a good shot,,,LOL.
