Default How long did you' ns say the range is?

I was driving again tonight and saw another coyote less than a mile from the last one I saw on the same road. I reckon this is a good sign as far as coyotes consistently in the area. I called the ODNR and they didn' t help much. All I got out of them is that coyotes are in all 88 counties. They said they don' t keep records of people filing complaints about it. There' s a lot of open field in this area, and earlier in the day I saw a rabbit on the side of the road. It was in the same spot the three times I passed it. I know they' re in the area so I' m reckoning it' ll be a good area to hunt them if I can find someone who' ll let me. So what I' m wonderin is how large the range would be so I know how far I can expect to see them.

I think the range depends on the food supply.if there are plenty of food they do not have to range very far,if no rabbits and such they will move to the food.
if you have rabbits in a large # get a rabbit squiler and go to work on them.

from 5 to 20 square miles, not unusual for it to take a coyote up to 2 weeks to cover its territory. If you' re seeing yotes in an area regularly, you shouldn' t have trouble finding a farmer that will let you hunt them.

i think range size depends on where they are and food availibility.here in the east where there numbers are not as high as out west, theres much less compatition for food and there ranges tend to be smaller.several packs that i used to keep tabs on around me had ranges of about 5 to 8 miles.out west i believe there ranges can be as large 20 + miles.most farmers don' t mind if your looking to shoot coyotes on there property.the only time i find a problem is if he already has give one or more people permision to predator hunt his property, this is somthing that is happening more and more in recent years.
