newbie! help !!

Just wanted to say hello. I'm new to the site and wanted to get my feet wet! I've started coyote hunting, and thought I could get some good advice from some of the veterans out there.

Hello ! I'm shooting a Sako Finlight in .280 Reminton. I'm wanting to work up some loads for coyotes, and in anticipation of a future elk hunt I want to reload for that also.

RE: newbie! help !!

I guess I should have answered better ! I've been using my AR15 Bushmaster in .223 for coyotes and bobcats (the only proper caliber I have at this time for predators). I've taken only two dogs, but am quickly learning from some of my mistakes. I just want to download .280 Reminton ammunition for coyotes, as soon as I get time.

The AR15 is a preety good varmit gun already, may just be better going with that. There are alot of guys shooting the .223 rounds with alot of good sucsees.
just dont try getting out past 200-250yds.

The 223 is going to be easy on the hides, but if your not hunting for hides, shoot them with the .280 fully loaded and see what happens! Dont shoot the cats with it though, they are worth too much $$$. Learn to blow a call good and have a great time.

Thanks Yodeldog. I'll just be darn if .223 ammo or components aren't getting hard to find, and expensive when you do! But I do like the .223. I was just wanting to try to "download" some .280 rounds to see how well it does.

Thanks okiegunnut. I bought two calls, both are lohman circi's, (I think I got the name right). Ones a variable tone, and the other is a long distance call. I'm learning ... by my mistakes !!
